THE CHRISTMAS ‘DO’

WEDNESDAY 21st DECEMBER

if you’d have walked through Salford

the week before Christmas

you may have spotted

amid the undergrowth

strange goings on

‘twas the week before Christmas

well, four days before

when four decided

to have some seasonal cheer

in anyone’s garden

coffees were brewed

crackers pulled

and mince pies scoffed

our first annual Christmas ‘Do’

in anyone’s garden

and much like any other

filled with chat ‘n’ cheer

while all around

anyone’s garden

carried on being

anyone’s garden

steely sky

deepening hues of

green, brown , and grey

rubble still rubble

and litter still strewn

where a materess once was

we now were

‘till was time

to pack up our deckchairs

n our friends

and say

We wish you a

Merry Christmas

and a

Happy New Year!
